A hotel dedicated to contemporary design
The works of the Drawing House

Artistic creation is the essence of the Drawing House. Art is omnipresent, permanent, in every space.

The hotel has given total freedom to several artists to inhabit the space and reinvent its nature. Mathieu Dufois' art projects occupy the first three floors, Karine Rougier's the next three, while Alexandre and Florentine Lamarche-Ovize have inherited the last three and a permanent work in the reception area. Daniel Otero Torres's work hangs over the bar. Lucie Picandet's temporary work has taken over the Dependence speakeasy.

So many creative people and so many different artistic expressions, which give this place an unparalleled emotional dimension.

The Drawing Hall is the Drawing Society's new exhibition space. Conceived as a place for meetings and exchanges, at the crossroads of the Studios dedicated to creation and business, the Drawing Hall hosts temporary exhibitions in the form of collaborations. Its programme includes invitations to collectors, cross-views of galleries and exhibitions with artistic and cultural institutions directly linked to Paris by the Montparnasse station.

Ground floor — Reception area

The mural created by artists Alexandre & Florentine Lamarche-Ovize is a portrait of Josephine Baker at the time of her arrival at Paris-Montparnasse.

The work of art that hangs from the ceiling is a tribute to the resilience of species across the globe that are endangered or are in the process of going extinct.

Dependence is the name of the hidden bar at the Drawing House. Only insiders and adventurers may enter: access is via the Drawing House’s service corridor, used for deliveries such as bedlinen.

Ground floor — The speakeasy

Walk through the doors of this speakeasy and you embark on a space expedition through the universe of artist Lucie Picandet.

Floors 1 to 3 — Crypta by Mathieu Dufois

Crypta is the name given by Mathieu Dufois to the work he has created in the corridors and bedrooms of floors 1 to 3 of the Drawing House.

Floors 4 to 6 — La balade des vents [The Ballad of the Winds] by Karine Rougier

The Ballad of the Winds is a work born from the desire to represent a workshop scene during the process of creation: the moment when ideas and images bloom, the concentration of the artist.

Floors 7 to 9 feature the continuation of the voyage that Alexandre & Florentine Lamarche-Ovize embarked on in the lobby of the Drawing House.
