Ground floor — The hidden entrance

Dependence is the name of the hidden bar at the Drawing House. Only insiders and adventurers may enter: access is via the Drawing House’s service corridor, used for deliveries such as bedlinen. The name was taken from the eponymous work by artist Jeanne Susplugas at the entrance, which shows the way in. Addictions are one of the characteristic evils of our age. By drawing attention to them in an ostentatious fashion, this luminous work becomes a kind of catharsis for the viewer. As if looking honestly and with full awareness at the sickness was the beginning of a cure.
